I'm sure this is partly constipation but a swelling belly is normal after hysterectomy. The support site I was on after mine called it "swelly belly". It tends to increase when you move around and then will decrease when you rest. It will come and go for a while. It also can happen if you are in a position that irritates your abdomen for too long and probably other reasons I forget.
