Connecting with a 2 1/2 yr old alter to me, would be just like connecting with any child....reaching out, drying eyes, holding in warm gentle hugs, crying with her, humming or singing to her, reading to her, accepting her and letting her know that she is validated and safe, no longer will she be harmed by those that harmed her. I don't know if that all helped....but I hope so
