It's sad that people don't get more support in our country.

In this case taxes were paid, and social security contributed for many decades. Yet when the time came to give back and support the system fell flat on its face.

Not too many people could manage to survive on nothing but the kindness of strangers for 6 months waiting for disability to kick in.

Luckily, a miracle happened and there was no eviction but living through that last dark night wasn't exactly good for someone fighting to recover from major surgery and facing radiation treatments.
