It was announced today that the seizure the Senator from MA suffered was related to a malignant brain tumor. He likely will require chemo and radiation for this very serious diagnosis. Sen. Kennedy is one of my heroes for his tireless championing of healthcare needs among other valued social issues. The last big speech I heard him give, at the last DNC convention, was immensely inspiring to me. And I've always admired how he has stepped up in the family to be the patriarch to all throughout all the family tragedies.

I'm saddened by this news, and my heart goes out to his family, colleagues, and all who love him.

May he know the love of the overwhelming many who love and admire him and draw on this for strength during his treatment. May he regain health. May his caregivers act with warmth, wisdom, and courage. May his family find comfort, strength, support, and courage in their faith and family. May his colleagues draw inspiration and courage from his examples, and comfort in unity.
