Hi everyone,

Does anyone have experience using Olanzapine as a PRN? I also take Rexulti 4 mg and Latuda 100 mg. The doctor from the ER added Olanzapine 5 mg to take as a PRN. He said start with half a tab and I can go up to a tab and a half if needed for hallucinations. Today is my first day taking it. So far I am not noticing anything but I am only trying 2.5 mg. So a very small dose. He said it is supposed to be relaxing. I'm trying to decide if I feel more relaxed. I heard it can cause weight gain. Sigh. That's all I need. But if it helps me I have to do it. I have an appointment with my PCP today so I will ask her what she knows about it. Then I scheduled an appointment with my psychiatrist for Wednesday next week (earliest I could get in) so he can give me a proper fill and refills since the ER doctor only gave me 10 days worth. Anyway, hopefully someone will be willing to share their experiences with this medication. HUGS Kit
