according to ss it says you have to be out a minimum of 5 months to qualify. I am sure there are rules to this that might come into play. ie..time off work due to illness that you are applying for. also it has to be expected to last more than a year. maybe call ss and ask them if it is at all possible. how many days a week you have to take off or a month and how it affects your work performance might come into play on that.
