a psychiatric diagnosis should not be made without a comprehensive exam including medical clearance to rule out any organic cause for your symptoms...

that being said, a message board can't tell you whether or not you have schizophrenia...

to help you a little in between now and your visit... LOTS of factors can cause psychotic symptoms in individuals

even something as simple as benadryl has been known to cause hallucinations in some people...

as far as mental illness with psychotic symptoms... it is NOT limited to just schizophrenia... depression can have psychotic features ... as well as bipolar disorder... there are others such as schizoaffective disorder, dissociative identity disorder, etc...

there are serious overlaps in symptomology of the psychiatric disorders and their criteria...

my suggestion is that you not worry on the name of whatever is going on but try and focus on controlling the symptoms.. b/c they are present regardless if it is called bananapantsitis or schizophrenia

I recommend you see a medical professional as soon as you are able... the good news is that there are VERY successful treatments for psychotic symptoms... like all medications, there will likely be trial and error finding one combo that knocks out your symptoms, but it is usually an easier mix than if you were trying to combat anxiety/depression b/c psychotic symptoms are clear cut... either they are there, or they aren't...

if all of the symptoms do not disappear, please notify your medical professional.. as they evaluate you over time, they can determine what will respond to treatment and what might be "fixed"...
