When I was miserable and it was taking forever to see a psychiatrist, I went to the ER and checked myself in voluntarily. I was able to see the psychiatrist and get my meds adjusted the next day.

If you can afford to pay a psychiatrist out of pocket, you can probably see one soon. But if you have to wait on insurance or government aid, it can take a really long time. I'm really glad I checked myself in and got the help I needed.
