Hi Bp1978. Do you have anyone you see every day (live with or otherwise)? Can you ask them to keep an eye on you and let you know if your behavior continues to progress upwards?

My old pdoc let me enjoy a touch of mild hypomania for a bit, but there was a limit. It might be good to get a sense next time you see yours, if she/he has a similar attitude. My view is that we certainly don't want to medicate away feeling good. Just keep extremes from happening. I think we all deserve some little range of feelings and emotions. There is usually no one spot for how we should feel. You know what I mean? Regardless, sleep is important. I urge you not to allow too many days with little to no sleep. Also, if your behavior causes any negative effects, it's definitely time to rein in any hypomanic "beast". Again, sometimes it takes someone else to clue you in on that. Other times, maybe you figure it out.

The risk of long term untamed hypomania or mania is the possible switch to depression. We have to keep that in mind, too.
