Sure thing.
The original job was teaching English classes (in person and then via Zoom during the pandemic) at Memorial Assistance Ministries:
Memorial Assistance Ministries (MAM) Houston
But they decided not to have classes on weekends anymore, so now I am mentoring a high school student (again on Zoom) with Minds Matter:
Minds Matter Houston
I am also part of the LGTBQ community so I help facilitate support groups for teens in that community through The Montrose Center:
the Montrose Center: Houston's Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) center!
These are also on Zoom right now.
And I recently became a NAMI peer support group facilitator, so I do zoom groups for NAMI Greater Houston:
NAMI Greater Houston - 501 (c)(3) Nonprofit - You are not alone!
But every large city has tons of volunteer opportunities. I needed to do something on weekends or I would just sleep all day (no family). I found Minds Matter through Volunteer Match:
