Hey @LiteraryLark why wouldnt you get it? They study the flu year round and virologists have some predictive models but mostly they study flu as it spreads across the world. And places like Aus or people (I think) below the equator have their winter when we have our summer. Winter is when people tend to get sick so it starts with tracking strains where flu is earliest.

I did hear that this year's flu season is going to be bad. Mostly because for 2020 the majority were wearing masks so germ prevention from covid also protected against the flu and the 2020 flu season was at the lowest (if not the record) its been seen for years. ( if you still doubt masks work look at last years flu stats) The Under grad school my son got his bs from as a flu outbreak and they just went virtual for 2 weeks.
I got mine about a month ago at the same time I got my booster. No reactions of any kind for either. It takes a good six weeks to build immunity for the flu so you can still get it.
