An old family friend, came and picked me up on Sat, to drive me around so I could run errands - transit is horrible here.

I said the first store I want to is so I can get new winter boots. She asked what size I am and I said 9. She said she had a pair of almost brand new size 9 boots in her car that she was trying to give away. She'd bought them a couple of years ago before her hip replacement and now she can't bend down to put them on.

They're exactly what I wanted, knee high, faux fur lined and waterproof and they're comfortable.

She just gave them to me, which I really appreciated since I can't afford much.

It was a definite early Christmas present.
