So my roommates daughter who just turned 6 this year and was 5 years old when her (great) grandfather passed away. She came to me crying saying she missed Papa. I gave her a hug and told her that it’s ok. It gets me thinking how do young children comprehend death. My roommates aren’t religious and don’t really believe in Jesus and for the most part atheist. How do you teach a child about death? What’s appropriate for their ages?
