This happens to me a lot. You are right that it’s very rude and sends the message what I’m saying isn’t important, even if I’m answering their question.

I’ve started saying “I’m talking” or “if you’ll let me finish you’ll get your answer. Seems some people weren’t taught how rude it is to talk over someone or interrupt,
