I've never been to N.I but years ago went to the ROI to Dingle Bay to swim with Fungi the Dingle Dolphin. He stayed in the bay for years but I believe he disappeared and they didn't know (at the time) whether he left to find a mate or died.
I had never been abroad...I had to get a passport just in case it was asked for (we were going by car ferry) and we had to change currency, (but this was before the Euro was accepted everywhere) so it was really like being in another country..particularly for me cos I couldn't understand anything people were saying even when they were speaking English cos of their strong accents down there!
It was a nice holiday though, also visited the beach where they filmed for the movie 'Ryan's Daughter'.
