I’d love to think herd immunity could work but all I’ve read has lead me to be sceptical of this being a reality.

I really appreciate the need to help the economy but the week I had covid 1.7 million in the UK did too. That’s a lot of people missing from work places. So then they reduce isolation to 7 days potentially if 2 negative lateral flow tests 24 hours apart on days 6 and 7, which is about getting people back to work ASAP. Except I wonder how many people will test negative on days 6 & 7? I didn’t test negative until day 10 and I was still unwell on day 7. A lot of people I know said the same thing.

I went back to work on day 11 and felt a bit whoozy, day 12 still felt unwell (Christmas day) not until day 13 did I feel properly well again, so all in all it was 2 weeks of illness for me. So letting this rip isn’t really so great for the economy or infrastructure generally and that’s aside from medical service burden.
I was thinking the same about how England is facing to the pandemic now.
