I know I am a side sleeper and like my mattress on the firm side but not rock hard. I also know I need help with choosing the right height for the bed to be off the ground...my last real bed was too high and the guest bed I sleep in now is too low and this guest bed has legs in the middle of the bed which makes placing storage containers underneath it very hard.
Then there's the size. Mom and Mamma says all I need is a double...but besties say if I want a boyfriend I need at least a Queen...Personally I find Kings to be so luxurious, but then there's space inside my apartment.
So here's what I need to know... What's the proper way to pick out a bed? I hope with COVID I can still lay on the bed at the mattress store. How do I know by laying on it if it's the right fit? I do know about 30 day trials. I also know I'll pay top dollar for a bed and bed frame as to be honest I practically live in my bed. Whether for sleep or for reading or for playing on my laptop, I prefer being in bed rather than on a couch
..thats why I want the best of the best and I do NOT want a bed that's going to be slipping and sliding around my room...the guest bed does that. I am also a thrasher at night so I need a bed that wont move.
Also, what is the average cost of a bed?
Any tips or help are appreciated.

I researched the hell out of the many “bed in boxes “ like purple, Casper, etc. we settled on Bear mattress. Middle of the road pricing and a 20 year guarantee along with 100 night trial. We love it. We got our frame from ikea. It came with 2 free pillows
And the softest set of sheets but it beats those mattress stores where the sales people work on commission and follow you around asking if you need help. I know of some people who go to a mattress store
And try these out and the order them. Ours was 1500$ with the 100 night guarantee. Amazon has some that are cheaper but I don’t know how they stack up.
