I think there should be mental health programs in place for high-stress jobs like that. Law enforcement and other government workers have to deal with surveilling things like that in order to catch criminals, but they are trained and probably have a large support system to work with. They also have therapists that are paid for and provided by their employers.

If social media has to monitor stuff like that, then there should be similar setups like law enforcement has when they have people that work on those kinds of monitoring. I'm not sure what that entails or is, but it sounds highly traumatic.

There's no way I could do that job. I know because I once worked for a translation company, and one of the lawyers needed a video transcription translated. It was of this young girl who was sexually abused, and she spoke in a different language. I was the project coordinator on that assignment, and I had to hand it off and quit my job because I couldn't really handle it. And that wasn't watching any acts; it was just a testimony. I had no idea that was part of my job description until I was well into my job. I think I went on disability shortly thereafter. I know I was homeless after that last job.

And my last job is not as traumatic as what the Tik Tok job calls for. That's really traumatizing. And shame on the people who post that gross stuff.

Too bad Tik Tok can't just pay police to monitor that stuff. Some places pay police for overtime, so why can't Tik Tok? It seems best suited for those who are trained in that.
