We all earn friendship in some way. I wouldn't want one that I had to work at though. It should come easily. An old saying is "he that would have friends, must show himself to be friendly."

Sometimes we try too hard to be friends with people that don't want to be our friend. we also end up with friends that we really don't want. Life is good though and we meet people that can become life long friends.Tthe best kind are the ones that know when to offer advice and when to shut the heck up. When to be there to listen and when to just be there.

I had a friend, actually my half brother. Anthony. He died at age 40, that was 10 years ago. There is not a day that has went by that I don't remember him. A song on the radio or a situation brings back fond memories. That is the kind of person I call friend.
