Exactly - we are just not going to be able to rely on testing data anymore because testing is too limited. Not only that, but I think a lot of people do not want the official tests because they don't want to be forced to fully quarantine. If your partner can't go to work because you have Covid but neither of you get paid sick time, then there's a real incentive to avoid the official test. On top of that, there's such a backlog that by the time you get the results, your quarantine is probably over anyway. And if you don't have Covid at the time of the test, what are the odds you get it in the Covid test waiting room?


Is anyone releasing wastewater testing results regularly? That seems like the best way to measure how affected an area is. They regularly test in my area but don't seem to release the results to the public. Maybe I will ask about that. Some colleges are doing that kind of testing to monitor for outbreaks and it has been very helpful at nipping them in the bud.
