Mountaindewed, thanks for sharing about your friends' experiences with Lyrica. I did a little online research and saw that some can gain weight while on it. I don't panic about that, though. Not that med weight gain has never affected me. It has, but I have also been on plenty that said there was a possible weight gain side effect, but didn't for me. I'll just wait and see and act accordingly.

Mountaindewed, I can locate your original post about thyroid issues so can't know exactly what you posted about. I'm seriously behind here. However, my thyroid has been shot for a good 10 years. It was first affected about 14 years ago. Lithium was mostly to blame, but hypothyroidism also runs in my family. No matter the cause, thyroid replacement medications (i.e. Synthroid) do a lot for many. With my Synthroid (levothryoxine) I'm perfectly fine. Yes, I'll have to take it for the rest of my life, but it's no biggie, for me. As long as you don't have some malignancy to be concerned about, I'll assume you have little to fear. For me, the thyroid damage from Lithium was small potatoes compared to my fear of my kidney damage from taking that med. If from whatever your situation with your thyroid is you have to take thyroid replacement like Synthroid, the most annoying part of that is having to take it on an empty stomach. The pill itself is itsy bitsy.
