I've read your post a few times and have wanted to respind but haven't, until now.
It makes sense that your therapist understands you can't fully integrate since your alters are also imaginary friends. Imaginary means only existing in imagination,not real. I don't really understand, are they alters as in DID or imaginary friends? How can they be both?
Also,how is Zelda teaching you to be a system? Do you mean helping you be aware of your system? How to work together?
I'm glad Zelda is helping you through your trauma. And I hope you don't mind my questions.
ETA: or maybe I misinterpreted your post and it's your therapist teaching you to be a system and work through your trauma?
