I agree that it is a big deal that you've kept yourself out of the hospital for all this time. Stopping the pattern of hospitalization is a very tough task, with bipolar disorder. I had almost four years of nearly back to back hospitalizations some years back. Bipolar is known for its kindling effect. Keeping those "flames" at bay is an incredible accomplishment. You've clearly been doing the work necessary to do so.

Fortunately I don’t rely on anonymous people behind a screen to fix my problems. Get feedback? Yes. I’ve taken control of my mental illness and work to cope with the world instead of just hide from it. It takes a lot of hard work and I’m damn proud of myself. I joined 15 years ago when I was lost and had no one to trust. I didn’t have anyone to advocate for me-you’re lucky you have your mom. This forum has helped me see it takes more than just meds to get stable.
