Oh yeah in those situations that is more understandable. I think everyone turns to their phones to avoid awkward situations. I do the same thing if I realize I’m being excluded and not wanted at a social event. Sometimes people will even look at their phones to make it look like their busy so they don’t have to say hi to someone they’re passing in the hall which I see happen a lot.
