I'm sorry to read that you got diabetes, Kelly. If you need an antipsychotic, maybe Geodon (ziprasidone) might be worth a try? It is sedating, at least in the beginning, for most people. At lower doses, it's also sedating. My blood work was just fine when I was on Geodon with Lithium, even at high doses. I even lost 40 lbs on that combo (with conscious dieting) and kept it off for a few years, until other less weight friendly meds were added.

If all you need is sleep, I imagine there are various meds your doc could consider, beyond antipsychotics.

* Lamictal (lamotrigine) 150 mg
* Seroquel XR (quetiapine ER) 500 mg

I also take meds for blood pressure, cholesterol, and tachycardia.
