I asked for it back because I couldn't get enough sleep, I live with noisy roomates. Now I'm stuck if I want to sleep I have to take it or wean off of it slowly. I'm still weeping one minute and laughing the next, which actually got worse after starting the seroquel again. I'm sorry to read that you got diabetes, Kelly. If you need an antipsychotic, maybe Geodon (ziprasidone) might be worth a try? It is sedating, at least in the beginning, for most people. At lower doses, it's also sedating. My blood work was just fine when I was on Geodon with Lithium, even at high doses. I even lost 40 lbs on that combo (with conscious dieting) and kept it off for a few years, until other less weight friendly meds were added.
If all you need is sleep, I imagine there are various meds your doc could consider, beyond antipsychotics.
