Since I already have a psychiatrist. Would I just ask him to give me an assessment for Dissociative Disorders?

I've always had to go to psychologists to get tested for mental illness.

would you just ask your existing psychiatrist, only you know whether you would or not, for me I do just ask my psychiatrist how long it has been since the last one, and whether he thinks it's time. I know my insurance pays for psychiatric evaluations every 3- 5 years. So for me my psychiatrist and I follow that same system for when to get a new one for me.

the MRI's and seizure tests - IMO perhaps it was for finding out whether seizure disorders were causing your problems, map your brains activities and brain waves under stress and stimuli, and resting, what types of brain waves your brain showed when resting, stressed or stimulated, triggered by looking at lights and color and pictures, eyes open, eyes closed and so on.
