I'm surprised your have a pdoc pushing clozapine. My pdoc is a specialist in treatment resistant disorders and she only has 2 of us on it and it's been that way for the 6 years I've been on it. She doesn't use it lightly. I think it is getting harder to manage being on it too. It's gotten much more expensive in the last 2 years and I had to choose my insurance plan this year and last based on the only part D plans that would cover it. I've never had the access issues you did when you were on it but I do only have one place in town I can get it and it costs $50/month with insurance. It's like they are encouraging doctors to NOT prescribe it.
