Yep - that's sad alright. I don't think my CEO wants to look at the truth. I think he's in denial of reality. Or maybe he's just not in touch with reality, being the CEO and removed from the actual work itself.
He also has a policy that I vehemently disagree with - it's inequitable business practice and drives me nuts. Because I was the highest paid in my department, that meant I got the largest workload - the most clients, the. most client reports to write, and the most work to do. Well, with that kind of a business approach, I became very burned out. I had told the CEO at least 3 times that I was burned out. And then I leave, and mention that burnout was one of the reasons. But still, he will refuse to look at his business model, and will likely experience continued high turnover.
I couldn't even bring it up today (my being burned out) because HE brought my complaint up as a point of contention! He said, when you compared yourself to another co-worker, who earns far less than you... and he went on. So I didn't bother to defend myself, or carry on about the burn out or large workload. I figured I had already stated it and clearly, he's not looking at it from my perspective.
Ridiculous.
