Awkwardly the person in charge of me here isn't the person who gives me the salary.

The person who gives me the salary would offer me compensatory time. But I don't want that because it is a joke. Whenever I take time off the person who "covers for me" just puts all the work on my desk for when I return. I have complained but they do nothing about it.

I guess my issue is that they are always trying to get me to stay late and they refuse to address it until it comes up and I have to start the argument all over again which makes it so I have to stay late.
