I think the experience is different for different people. I had a lot of different traumas to work through. At times it felt like energy running through my body. Like emdr opened up the floodgates of stimulation. A few times i needed a follow up session later in the day or the next day to further process whatever we were working on. It's hard work but I wouldn't change a thing. I can notice the same memories now without flashbacks, negative feelings, or physical responses. Good luck.
