Thanks to BBC, I missed GB Women's Curling final. Wasn't sleeping well Saturday night/Sunday morning so decided to get up around 330am. I thought in time for the final. Switched on to find it had finished. Pleased with result though.
Stayed up for a while to watch 4-man Bobsleigh instead. Another sport where competitors are fearless. Then remembered many years ago, Christopher Dean (of Torville and Dean) tried it with another GB skater Nicky Slater.
Closing ceremony spectacular!

For the 2000 Sydney Summer Games, I stayed up till midnight everynight watching that, even sitting through commercials. But I was 20 years younger then, and I no longer can stay up nearly that late even if I skipped commercials (which I can't stand now).
The name Nicky Slater rings a bell. See you remember Torville and Dean too.
I've gotten confused about what I've seen and not seen, as I watched hours a day and some events were on USA. I think they showed the highlights in primetime on NBC, so I might have seen some things twice without realizing it.
I'm not as focused as usual, like before 2020, with all that's going on in the world. I did try to enjoy them and I guess I did for the most part.....It IS the only event that brings the world together for about 2 1/2 weeks.
