You're right. I've put a lot of time and energy into this relationship. It would be a shame to let it go altogether. Being alone is tough. That's one reason I've held onto this relationship for so long. There are degrees of friendship. Perhaps it would be better to be less close. I don't know. It's worth talking to her about.
