I'm on the insomnia train tonight. Mountaindewed, are you still there? That sounds like an interesting dream. Do you mean Snoopy the dog?

** See edit at end for result **

I'm making a schedule for sleepless nights. So far, it's like this:

(I go to bed at 11 pm)

12:30 am: my playlist or CD of music that sometimes makes me drowsy
1 am: progressive muscle relaxation
1:30 : read one of my stack of never-before-read books
2: yoga ending in bed
2:30: go through files (paper) and light snack of something that never causes heartburn
3: yoga nidra--online audio/video meditation-like thing
3:30: redo lists (I have several)
4: other recorded sleep meditation-like stuff
4:30: some rather unimportant special project I saved like reinforcing buttons that are getting loose
5: deep breathing exercise--these have never worked for me but they say practice helps
5:30: more files
6: usual time to get up

Maybe I'll be lucky enough to fall asleep somewhere in there.

** So I went back to bed at about 4 and played the sleepy music playlist, then did some progressive muscle relaxation, and fell asleep for maybe an hour, which is a lot better than nothing. I had also slept about an hour around 2 am. For someone who's had as many totally sleepless nights as I have, this is not too grim.
If anyone wants to know what songs are on that playlist, I'll look them up and post them. Might do it anyway next time I'm looking at my playlists.
