Just wanted to reply to this part, as it resonated with me. My T said a while ago how my having anxiety and OCD since I was a young child--and not getting support from my parents for handling it--in itself can be a form of trauma. Along with not getting my emotional needs met in general. And that was a very important and validating statement for me. As I tended to think trauma had to be event-based, and there were some events, but nothing that seemed enough to explain some of how I react to things and people (both ex-T and current T have said I seemed to react like someone with childhood trauma).

Anyway, don't want to derail the thread, but just wanted to comment on that.
