I get that lingering stress. I felt it for awhile after that fire that was on top of the ridge behind my first house in Calif. I was thankful my unit manager was a volunteer fireman in the valley where he lived & monitored fire activity at work. He was the one who told me to go home & water down my shake roof. The anxiety from it being that close took weeks to wind down from. Fire season in Calif used to be late summer through fall during the Santa Anna winds but now it seems like it is all year long out there.
