I'd give the medication a bit more time. Plus, are you 100% sure it hasn't helped at all? Sometimes we can't tell as well as others.

I've had manias that went on for months. Also, I've had manias that eased and then returned very soon after. I didn't always go from mania to depression to mania to depression. Sometimes it was mania to hypomania to mania to sort of stable, to mania to mixed mania, and on. During about a 2 1/2 year period this was definitely the case. It was hard to know if an episode actually stopped before a new one or it was the same darned episode just waxing and waning.

Psych Medications:
* Tegretol XR (carbamazepine ER) 800 mg
* Lamictal (lamotrigine) 150 mg
* Seroquel XR (quetiapine ER) 500 mg

I also take meds for blood pressure, cholesterol, and tachycardia.
