I am eligable for a disability tax credit. Since I do not work, it was best to claim it under my husbands income taxes. So the money is for my disabilities. The cheque caame in the mail and he cashed it into his account without speaking to me about it. He told me after. He wants to add it to his rrsp, to lower his income for tax time, even though it is not taxable income. I think it is better to add it to my tax free savings account. So now he says he will give me half of it back. this is not feeling right to me. Especially since i feel he took it from under my nose, money for my disabilites. My tax fee savings is for us, maybe a house or retirement savings. Please advise. I am feeling like he stole money from me.
