Diagnoses are tricky because sometimes they become a lable. What they should be is a guideline to help the healing process. I have been diagnosed with Borderline and with PTSD. Using those diagnosis have have been able to see in text how to help myself. Does that make sense? I am still Borderline and still have PTSD but would I still be diagnosed as such if I went to a new therapist today? No. In fact my last therapist felt my first therapist was wrong in the diagnosis. Which made me angry because she was discounting all the effort I put in to my healing.

ANYWAY, the point I want to make is "Is the new diagnosis helpful in finding a framework for healing?" If not then one should remember that we all display symptoms from all personality disorders. It is merely being human. I maintain my belief in my BPD diagnosis because it continues to give me a framework to follow even though my last therapist would not diagnose me with it at all but rather would say I only have tendencies toward it.

Does any of this make sense?
