I'm bipolar NOS too for now. The psychiatrist who DXed me said he had enough evidence of me having bipolar... but just a few months ago the psychiatrist who's been taking care of my stuff for the past 10 months said they are wondering if I have bipolar.

I know I am, because I have diary entries from age 13 that clearly indicate that I'm bipolar. But even if I'm not, it doesn't matter - at least I got lithium and it has helped me a great deal. I could say that I'm symptom free.

The NOS diagnosis may be given when you are first DXed with bipolar, and you have a new pdoc and everything, and they want to "examine" you more... that is, by putting you into treatment and checking out your moods and stuff like that.
