I think Kim is just trying to help Pink in the tricky transition one goes through as a person transitions from a life as a patient, to a life as a a T. There can be long period of transtion while internal adjustments are made, and new found courage and strengths are encorporated. It's a confusing, difficult time.

Support is needed from both sides.
