I think fears are neither valid nor invalid. It’s like feelings. You just have them. They aren’t right or wrong. If you are uncomfortable without a mask I encourage you to wear one. Many do.
Personally I use very little limitations in my life and mostly live as normal right now, mostly because my husband and I worked in person all through pandemics and work with people now so we can’t limit interactions with people who might be potentially sick, we just don’t know. So I might as well live as normal outside of work.
But I respect those who are more cautious. My best friend had GBS and is immune compromised. She only now started to do things like going out (she works but that’s a a necessity). I respect her choice. I have other friends who are very cautious. I am fine with that.
I often wear a mask depends where i am at. Nothing wrong with that. You do what you need to do.
