I agree with Waterbear. Assuming you're concerned about Covid, I would test and only let her know if I tested positive. If your mom happens to test positive (even if you haven't), I'd also tell her to see if she preferred to meet virtually next session to be safe.


I have mentioned negative tests to my T a couple times, most recently because I have seasonal allergies, so I was letting him know that I confirmed via test that my mild respiratory symptoms were due to that. (Like I mentioned I'd tested negative and was trying to suppress the urge to cough from a tickle in my throat, and he said it was fine, to not worry about coughing.) If I had no symptoms, I wouldn't have mentioned it. So if you do have symptoms but test negative, I'd consider letting your T know before your next session. Just so you don't walk in, say, blowing your nose and have her be concerned unnecessarily.
