I've also seen similar groups with such tendencies. Also online support groups where the members rarely supported each other, but just posted about their own issues/grievances. When it comes to the latter, I understand that when we're in crises, rough/stressful, or busy times, we NEED more than we can give. However, when all members ever do (ever) is need and not give, the group eventually suffers. I agree, Christina, that this online group is far better than most in terms of positive/helpful interactions and support. Not to say that there aren't hiccups here and there for all, or members that disagree or feel left out. No such place is perfect.

So many online bipolar forums have died out or become ghost towns in past years. Even quite significant ones! I'm glad My Support Forums lives on.

I've felt similar as Nammu about certain members on forums exhibiting BPD type symptoms. Such members' emotional dysregulation can be intensely stress-inducing and push members away or trigger. Also cases where certain members developed near obsessions with other members. Then when they perceived rejection, they expressed fury. Very characteristic of BPD and not as much BP.
