I would love to visit Scotland. My grandfather was of Scottish descent. I was in Ireland a few years ago and found it absolutely enchanting. I know Ireland is not part of the UK of course, but I think such things as the weather are quite the same. Very refreshing...misty.
Scotland's history is amazing, so rich. When you say "independence" do you mean independence from the rest of the UK? I had no idea that Scotland was considering independence anymore.

Yes independence from the rest of the UK we just had an local election and the Scottish Nationalist Party (SNP) got high votes meaning our First Minister (Scotland's version of Prime Minister in England). Nicola Sturgeon the First Minister says she might do another referendum. Which goes against her original statement in 2016 of once in a life time vote for independence.
We are getting 2nd and 3rd June off for The Queen's 70th Reign. Pubs are open for longer too etc. Think the local councils here will do something. England throws Street parties etc but that's not a thing up here that I know of
