Depression is so hard to deal with in life...whether it's continual or situational. I've found what helps me (naturally) is vigorous walking and eating lots of bread and bread products. i'm recently coming out of a depression, and did these things once again.
i found that, when i'm depressed, my body craves bread & dough. i mentioned that to my old p'doc and my current t and they both said that is not strange at all due to the fact that carbs and bread naturally release more seretonin in the brain (what antidepressants do), as well have sedating qualities.
it's helped me in the past...i eat lots of dough, then have to walk it off
also, therapy helps so much.
