So, my boss told me about a task on Friday morning that is due tomorrow, after the holiday. He told me about it at 9 AM, yet didn't actually give me the details of this task until hours later, at 12 PM, when we were to be let go at 1 PM for the holiday weekend.

So, at 2:30 PM, after I had made some decent headway on this task, I asked if I could leave the rest for Tuesday morning to finish up. He said fine. But I am resentful that he gave me the task so late, when it's due the very next business day. Is that a set up???? I am very wary of my boss right now and feel he's trying to set me up for failure.

In my formal review, he argued that I could have tried harder on 2 different tasks I was assigned - the tasks that I felt were unreasonable to ask me to do. His reasoning was that these tasks were reasonable, when in fact, they weren't. I had no leg to stand on and could not argue back. I couldn't tell him they were unreasonable tasks, when he thinks they ARE reasonable.

I feel I am being set up to fail.
