I take a prescribed benzodiazepine every day. It does triple duty:
depression (I am taking no antidepressant medications due to side-effects)
anxiety
neurology (over which the doctors disagree, but that's a long story)
Could I go four days without it?
No. It's not something I could stop immediately; that would be dangerous, or so the doctors tell me.
If I could wean off it safely and effectively, then might I be able to take it on an as-needed basis? I don't know. Could I go without it entirely? I don't know. Do I have it within me to try? I don't know.
