I use hemorrhoid suppositories, with a bit of hemorrhoid cream applied to the tip to make them easier to slide in. Also the adult baby wipes are soothing and make it easier to get your butt clean. And to feel around back there as to what is going on. Also sitting in a hot bathtub (or a sitzbath) after pooping will help ease any pain. There are these tubs called sitz bath you can get at amazon or a pharmacy that fit over a toilet seat that you fill with hot water that you then sit in.

I do not like preparation h - they are so greasy. I prefer the anusol brand of creams and suppositories. Good luck.
