I know the difficulty of a t/pdoc saying they do not know what to do next. I felt like I was beyond hope. I don't know what my t/pdoc did, perhaps consulted with a colleague, but next session he came up with a few new ideas. They involved a different type of therapy than what I'd been doing: hypnotherapy actually. It fell through, but you can always tell your doctors that you would like a referral. A good doctor will realize that they cannot help you with everything and not be hurt my your idea. Failing with one method of treatment does not mean you will fail with all.

It is said an Eastern monarch once charged his wise men to invent him a sentence, to be ever in view, and which should be true and appropriate in all times and situations. They presented him the words: "And this, too, shall pass away." How much it expresses! How chastening in the hour of pride! How consoling in the depths of affliction!
