I used to work with a man many years ago who died by suicide. It took me a long time to get over that I might have been the last person he talked to before the act. I was working midnights at the time, on the phones by myself, and one night he called in at like 3am or something and was just wanting to talk, I remember still that he was happy/chatty, very friendly. Normally he was very quiet and reserved so it was unusual, and I talked to him as long as I could until the phones started getting busy and I had to hang up. We found out the next morning when he didn't show up for work (before my shift ended) and his supervisor went to his apartment to check on him and found him. It was so very sad. They brought in grief counselors for us to talk to I recall.
